What do you propose we do? About war, I mean. Don't get me wrong, I am a pacifist, and an advocate of social justice, but I am also a realist.

I would really like it if all the violent and aggressive people would go away. Problem is, they won't. So what do we pacifists do about murderers, rapists, partner abusers, perpetrators of genocide, corrupt regiemes, insane dictators who love to play with big guns, etc.

In all my years of study, and debate, I've never seen a cogent or plausible alternative argued. It's all good to dream of the revolution, or to hope for some inclusive-democratic state to emerge, but what do we do in the mean time? How do we cope with empire and imperialism, with oppression, with state sanctioned violence? Do we intervene in other nations' problems or focus on our own? How do we respond to aggressive nationalism, terrorism (state sanctioned or otherwise), military expansionism, etc?

What is your vision?

It's all well and good to critique the troops, the state, power in general, but what alternative do you propose?
